our area saturday afternoon but also washington, d.c. and virginia. storm left behind a number of power outages in our viewing area. around 21,000 customers lost power and they are working to restore service. so far crews have restored power to 19,000 customers. at last check, over 1600 remain without power this morning. >>> take a look at this picture of a water spout on the chesapeake. it was sent to you by viewer alex schweitzer. we're also told one police officer at sandy point park spotted a funnel cloud. his police cruiser was damaged in the storm, but he wasn't hurt. >>> well, during the storm in prince georges county, more than a dozen people were injured as they rushed for the exits at that time show arena, where a county fair was being held. in washington, d.c., strong winds and heavy rain plowed through, prompting unconfirmed tornado reports. workers were out saturday evening cleaning up fallen trees, trying to repair power lines. reports of tornado like funnel clouds in fairfax county and in virginia there. actual tornados have not been confirmed. damage in some areas

thunderstorms, virginia, back into ohio, same thing in indiana. eventually this will catch up to us. nothing showing up on the radar now except little showers in pennsylvania but this will probably cross over ridge tops, moving in later this afternoon. as i was saying, best to do things outside this morning than this afternoon. 71 degrees in parkton. forecast today, variable clouds, chance for showers and thunderstorms. high temperatures will range between 83 and 88, a humid day so you'll notice that tropical humidity. bay forecast, east-southeast wind at 10, wave heights around one foot. the next high tide at fort mchenry, 8:22 this morning. seven-day forecast, showers and thunderstorms likely tomorrow, chance for rain 60% on monday. probably a better chance for rain than today and then the chance for rain tapering off during the middle week, down to 40% by wednesday, clearing on thursday and friday with highs staying in the low to mid 80's the next five or six days. >> still ahead on 11 news, make sure your kids set the trends in fashion. a sneak peek at what's hot. >> michelle ob

associated with a system to the south of us in virginia. the rest of the state looks pretty good, as well. out west, 75 degrees they'll top out at in southern pennsylvania, 74 down south in maryland and ocean city, 75 degrees. currently, this system here in southern virginia, northern north carolina, bringing us spread out cloud cover throughout the area that will continue on and off throughout the day but all that precipitation should stay to the south of us because of this high sitting over pennsylvania and once that washes out, we will be watching more stuff in texas. this next system, unfortunately, this one will probably nab us because once the high pressure moves out, the low will move over us and bring us unfortunately a saturating rain on tuesday. here's the cloud cover moving through the rest of the day. clear to partly cloudy skies through monday. then into monday afternoon and evening, clouds build, then we head into tuesday and rain moves in. you can see this well defined front that will move through the greater baltimore area, most of maryland, actually, and with that, w

area and heavy rain ahead of it moving across ohio and west virginia. here at home, nothing around baltimore just yet but showers popping up in pennsylvania so the farther into the day, the better the chance some of that rain will catch up to us. if we get heavy rain today, it will be later this afternoon and this evening. this is not going to be a washout but at who point you'll probably have to deal with rain in your neighborhood. 72 at the airport, 69 in randals town. variable clouds, chance for showers and thunderstorms mainly later this afternoon but hit and miss showers this morning, as well. high temperatures between 81 and 86. if you want to take out the boat, watch for lightning especially in the afternoon. at 10outheast winds knots. seven-day forecast, unfortunately, pretty good chance for rain tomorrow, maybe up to 70% on labor day monday with high temperature of 83 and chance for rain tapering off the middle portion of the week, clearing on they'd and friday with high temperatures in the low to mid 80's over the next several days. >> only two more days left to check out
